A little bit of history
2020 Strategies launched SitesToGo® in 2002 - just after the 'dot bomb' and at the end of a period where inflated website prices in Ireland were at their most ridiculous. And a period where more web designers were going out of business that entering the field for the first time.A large tourism client was looking for a cheap source of updatable websites for his clients and at the same time other clients were being quoted upwards of 5K for pretty inadequate content management systems.
SitesToGo® was born from the quest for a 'perfect updatable website at an affordable cost'. Our initial venture into the tourism business was soon replaced with a more general website builder - as events like 9/11 and foot and mouth made the going particularly hard in that sector.
Our belief was that if you gave people the right tools, they could not only update but build their own websites from scratch. We were wrong about that except in very rare cases, and our last 'build your own' website package was sold in early 2007.
